The first message was for Babita. “I am a good spirit, but there are many bad spirits, and they will destroy you. You must not play with this board again because if you do, you will lose your soul to a bad spirit, and it will take you over, and you will commit suicide. On the 5th June, 1956, there will be an uprising in Ceylon; the Sinhalese people will turn against the Tamils in Colombo. It will put the country into civil war for many years. The country will be able to avoid the bloodshed now by not allowing any Bills to be passed on that date. You and your family must leave for Jaffna before this date, if you do not do so your father will be so badly beaten up at Colombo that he may not survive. Please take what I am saying seriously.

Marian, you will leave the country within the next nine months, and you will go to England and you will marry before your eighteenth birthday. I am now going and ask you to throw away the board do not touch it, and that goes for all of you.” The tumbler raced through the board, and smashed onto the floor. Babita and Marian were stunned by the news, and they looked at each other with blank expressions, and their minds working overtime. The others were no longer interested and they went home.

“It is difficult to comprehend what he said, and what to make out of it.” Marian said feeling very uncomfortable, “You started this for a bit of fun, and I joined in for a laugh as well. The details we received, whether by fluke or not, are not what we wanted to hear. The information regarding Barlu and Ravi and the spirit himself being even in the temple were correct, so we cannot disregard everything the spirit just said. You and I have no interest in politics therefore the information he has given us may have a bearing, especially if the other predictions come to pass then you should take heed regarding the political situation, as I may not be here.” Marian continued, very worried and anxious now about the whole situation.
