Julie Allen's Official web site: Writer - Artist - Poet

Julie AllenAbout Julie Allen

I have always been interested in Creative Writing, Poetry, and Art. I have exhibited and sold many watercolour and oil paintings. My poems have been published in magazines, newspapers and [email protected].

A few examples:

I am now spending more time writing. I attend the Enfield Writers Association. My first book ‘The Awakening’ is dedicated to my husband Len and Enid Fairhead, without whose encouragement I would not be a writer. My novels and stories are based on my extensive travels in Sri Lanka, India, Australia, America, Thailand, Europe etc. I am very interested in other people’s cultures, religions, and way of life and these are reflected in my writings. My book ‘The Awakening’ and ‘Tales to Tell’ are good examples of this.

I have varied interests like Classical Music, Travel, and Reading. One of my favourite leisure hobbies is my garden where I have won yearly awards since 1993. It is in the NGS yellow book and the garden is open to public every year in aid of charity. I do a lot of Charity work and I am an ex-founder member of Animal SOS Sri Lanka. It is a British Charity working very hard in Sri Lanka to alleviate the suffering of the animals.

During my medical career, I specialised in Homoeopathy and I published many articles in various magazines on Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Anxiety and Phobias, Asthma, Arthritis, Crohns disease, Psoriasis, and Repetitive Strain Injury.

My Book Tales to Tell is now available – please SEE details on separate page.
